Welcome our Seminarian!

We are pleased to announce that the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has assigned Saint Elizabeth of Hungary as the home parish for Stephen Watson. He will be joining us starting July 8, 2019, before he begins his “Internship Year.” Please give Stephen a warm Saint Elizabeth welcome! Below is a brief biographical background on him.

Stephen was born and raised in the heart of the Central Valley in Modesto, CA where his parents still reside. He has two brothers and two sisters. A passion for baking led him to study at Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, OR. After working for a catering company in the area and a brief time as a pastry chef at Disney World in Orlando, Fl, he was led into discernment through his love of serving his brothers and sisters in Christ. He joined the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (the Eudists) in 2010 and completed his undergraduate studies in Communication Media at John Paul the Great Catholic University in Escondido, CA in 2016. After a year in France, he entered St. John’s Seminary in the Fall of 2017 to begin his theological studies. He joined the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in the Spring of 2019. He will spend the next academic year as an intern at St. Mary’s Parish in Palmdale. While not studying, he enjoys relaxing through photography, watercolor painting, and crocheting. He is extremely grateful to Fr. Modesto for welcoming him into the parish and giving him a home in his new diocese.
