From the very beginning, Christians have gathered together to hear the word of God, and, from the very beginning, there have been individuals entrusted with the task of reading the word. That service to the church has developed over the course of time, but it is good to know something about the history of the lector in order to better understand the role of the lector in the Church today.

La Función del Lector en la Iglesia
Desde principio de la Iglesia, los cristianos se han reunido para escuchar la palabra de Dios, y desde el principio han habido personas a quienes se les ha confiado el cargo de proclamar la palabra. Este servicio se ha desarrollado a través del tiempo; pero es bueno conocer algo de la historía del lector para mejor entender la función del lector en la Iglesia hoy día.
